The exhibition was selected by David Mitchinson, curator of the Henry Moore Foundation and Ann Elliott, in consultation with Madame Alla Butrova, Head of Foreign Relations and Exhibitions Department at the Pushkin Museum. The majority of the works on display were lent by the Foundation with other loans from public collections in the UK and USA. The scale of the galleries determined the scale of works selected which concentrated on small sculpture, early carvings and maquettes, together with drawings and 3 large scale tapestries made at West Dean College in Sussex between 1976 and 1986. A fully illustrated catalogue, with an essay by Professor Norbert Lynton exploring the theme of Moore’s humanity, and texts by Sergei Kuskov and Irina Kokkinaki of the Pushkin Museum, accompanied the show
