Ephraim Ngatane, a student of Polly Street, became a prolific painter and teacher. He played the pennywhistle in jazz bands, a boxer and an artist. He produced watercolours and oil paintings of township life. However, his life was short and he died at the age of 32 from tuberculosis-related complications in 1971. 1st Edition
