South African artist Eleanor Esmonde-White (1914-2007) established the Department of Design at the University of Cape Town's Michaelis School of Fine Art. She also designed huge tapestries and mosaics for public buildings, including the Artscape and Baxter Theatres, and painted murals for South African House in London.
Leanne Raymond spent many hours with Eleanor Esmonde-White in 2004 recoding her life and locating her artwork. This book is based on those conversations, and on letters written by the artist.
